SPRINT IRONCAT

Xavier Gordillo, David Lopez and Lopez Txus , the three triathletes in Sitges Swimming Club, have once again managed to finish last Saturday May 14, 2011 the Ironcat which is a Long Distance Triathlon (3.8 mile swim, 180km cycle and 42,195 km of track and field).

The competition began at 7 am in L'Ampolla (Delta del Ebro) and there in a sea plane began the 170 candidates for the finisher medal which would be a long and hard day.
This year the sea was very calm which helped a lot this first segment. The first to complete the course was Nacho Garcia Swimming Club Sitges to outdo their rivals by more than 5 '. Unfortunately for stomach problems had to retire at kilometer 90 of the bicycle.

In cycling also had very good weather conditions and the wind was very weak and that allowed the rhythms are constant and rapid.
The last part of the Triathlon, the hardest for many is the Marathon. The 42.195 km became very hot and that it took a toll on Alex Altes also of Sitges, which had to retire at kilometer 20.

The first across the finish has been Xavier Gordillo (10h55 '), then David Lopez (11h34') and finally Txus Lopez (13h48 ').
